I worked for schampa.com but ended as a Slave !!
My life , was associated with this head-wear, head-gear company, with schampa.com, with the Owner, Andy Myers. For the near 2 years that I worked since the inception of the Thailand operations, I was treated as a slave, verbally abused, financially abused, False Accusations, Mentally Abused and Mentally Tortured till mentally murdered, to the extent of break-down, crying, crying, and yet tortured, .and accused of wrong- doings (unproved and unfounded), and made me cry and cry. I was called ‘an independent contractor’ but treated as an employee – abused in all possible ways — I spent all what I earned for the working, and operations, because if the operations slowed, I was verbally abused , shouted, threatened … my very work-day was a dose of high-level of shouting/threatening…the working conditions were forced-shouted-unwritten, vague, ignoring our enquiries, and treated as dogs or slaves on these issues…for over 1 year, there was no official registered Company, no office, no office table/chair, computer, printer, telephone, cell-phone, internet; I used my home as office, my lap-top, electricity charges etc. Financial Abuse – ask for money for regular operations – I get shouted, if shipment is not made – I get shouted — I use my personal money to run operations, make shipments, I get a delayed reimbursement, and even no reimbursement till today over 100 days after I was forced to quit !
As Asians, I am Indian, my family has been deprived of my earnings — they were virtually starved…I, have been verbally abused at office, in taxi, at Star Bucks, food-courts – shouted GET OUT ! Fingers cracked as whip lashes !
Today, now, I am a mentally beaten cockroach, beaten, and hammered.. I am still scared. I am over 50 years, and I cried at work— and I was accused, I cried and choked, yet accused and abused of taking commissions from the textile printers. This had happened, real, live and true. But I yet continued to work – as is the sprit of working !!
It is over 3 months that I have resigned (forced to resign), nothing in writing about pay/increase, no replies, all deceitful. My salary, reduced, just halved discretionally, even the expenses spent in the course of working, have not been reimbursed. I just worked as a laborer without minimum protection, no insurance, no annual leave, final payment of 15 days, and shouted, and shouted and abused and abused, accused of wrong-doings at work, and just forced to leave, — to my freedom and mental peace !!
